Understanding Product Coverage and Availability

When exploring the Intrinio platform, you may notice a wide variety of datasets, products, and API endpoints in our documentation. Depending on your subscription, some of these resources may already be available to you, while others may require a different plan or an Enterprise consultation.

This article explains how product coverage works and how to determine whether a dataset or endpoint is available with your account.

Intrinio Plans Include Complete Data Packages

Intrinio offers three primary plans:

  • Individual – For personal, internal use by a single user.
  • Startup – For commercial use by startups and small businesses.
  • Enterprise – For organizations that require premium datasets, custom licensing, dedicated support, or customized deployments.

The Individual Plan Data Package, Startup Plan Data Package, and Enterprise Plan Data Package all include the same core collection of datasets and API endpoints. The primary differences between these plans are licensing rights, support options, commercial usage permissions, and the purchasing process—not the included core data coverage.

Why Do I See Endpoints I Can't Access?

Our API documentation contains all available Intrinio endpoints, including those for premium and Enterprise-only datasets.

This allows developers to browse the complete platform, even if their current subscription doesn't include every product.

If an endpoint requires data that is not part of your subscription, requests to that endpoint will simply require the appropriate entitlement.

The Fastest Way to See What You Have Access To

There are two easy ways to discover the datasets and endpoints available with your account.

Option 1: Use Your Account Page

After signing in:

  1. Navigate to Account → Subscription or Account → Access.
  2. Select one of your included data feeds.
  3. Click View API Documentation.
  4. The API documentation will automatically filter to endpoints associated with that data feed.
  5. Use the toggle to switch between:
    • My Endpoints – Shows only endpoints available with your subscription.
    • All Endpoints – Shows every endpoint available across the Intrinio platform.

This is the quickest way to explore the APIs that are immediately available with your account.

Option 2: Use the Intrinio MCP Server

The Intrinio MCP Server can help you discover available datasets using natural language.

Because the MCP Server understands your account's entitlements, it can recommend:

  • The best datasets for your use case
  • Compatible API endpoints
  • Available MCP tools
  • Resources you already have access to

This helps reduce implementation time and avoids accidentally building against datasets outside your subscription.

What's Included in My Plan?

Your plan includes a broad collection of financial data covering areas such as:

  • US company fundamentals
  • Historical stock prices
  • Historical options data
  • EquitiesEdge™ real-time derived equity pricing
  • OptionsEdge™ real-time derived options analytics
  • Company reference data
  • Institutional ownership
  • Insider transactions
  • Tick-level historical market data
  • 15-minute delayed market data

These datasets are designed to support most financial applications without requiring exchange agreements or exchange fees.

Some Products Require Enterprise

Certain specialized datasets are available only through Enterprise or Enterprise Custom licensing.

Examples include:

  • Raw real-time exchange market data
  • Premium news services
  • Analyst estimates
  • ETF datasets
  • ESG datasets
  • Corporate events
  • Mutual fund datasets
  • Custom datasets
  • Other premium or exchange-licensed products
