Why does Intrinio use the UTC time zone?

Intrinio uses UTC (Coordinated Universal Time) to label our financial data. Here's why.

We use UTC (Coordinated Universal Time) rather than EST or EDT when providing the time that a filing was sent to the SEC. UTC is a standard date/time format for data management. Using a consistent, standardized format allows all of our users to adapt our data to their own needs.
