This article will show you how to pull a list of stock exchanges from around the world as well as the end of day (EOD) stock prices from those exchanges in CSV format. The data includes open, high, low, close, date, and volume (OHLCV) for all stocks trading on more than 150 international exchanges.
In order to pull the data, you'll need a subscription or free trail. This article gives an overview of the costs and what is included, and you can chat with our team to take a free trial. You can see the EOD exchanges that are available in the marketplace:
Once you have a to the exchange or exchanges you are interested in, you can use the API Explorer to build API, Excel, Google Sheets, or CSV syntax. If you want to pull a CSV, start by clicking "Download":
Once you have selected download, choose the call type "Exchange Prices":
On the next page, you'll be able to specify the exchange you want to access data from as well as the date. You can also see the full syntax for the data:
Start by clicking on the "Identifier" option to select the exchange. If you click "List All" you'll see every exchange covered by Intrinio. You can also search for the exchange by name. Notice how the exchange symbol includes "^" and "X" before the exchange acronym:
If I am interested in stock prices from the Irish Stock Exchange, I can scroll down and click the green icon for that exchange and it will automatically appear in the "Identifier" box as "^XDUB".
Then I can change the date parameter to pull data for any historical date I'd like. Data becomes available after the close of trading on the exchange, so if today were January 10th, I could pull data for January 9th or possibly January 10th if it were later in the evening after the exchange released its stock prices.
Don't forget that the date must be in YYYY-MM-DD format:
Now, if you click "Execute" you'll see a sample CSV with the option to download the data:
If you wish, you can click the clip board icon next to the download URL. Pasting this URL into your browser will also download a CSV of the data:
You can update the date in the URL to pull data without using the API explorer.
This same methodology can be used to pull other types of Intrinio data- just click "Change Download Type":
