WHAT INDEX LEVEL FEEDS DO WE OFFER?

Currently, we offer latest end of day (EOD) and historical EOD pricing data for 7 US indices (seen in the sample data here), in addition to all indices available on the Federal Reserve Economic Data (FRED) website (seen here).

For enterprise level solutions (e.g., firm-wide internal use and/or redistribution purposes through an app or site), we also offer several real time streaming and snap quote feeds.

The below sections will describe in more detail the feeds we offer that include this index level data and how to access it.

Latest EOD and Historical EOD Prices for 7 US Indices

Via the US Fundamentals and Stock Prices feed, you can pull the latest EOD and historical EOD close prices for the following 7 US indices: S&P 500, Dow Jones Industrial Average, Dow Jones Composite Average, Dow Jones Transportation Average, Dow Jones Utility Average, Nasdaq 100 Index, and Nasdaq Composite Index. We do not currently provide the open, high, low, or volume for these indices, strictly the close price, percent change in price, and change in price.

This data is available to access through our REST API, Excel add-in, and CSV.

Pulling index prices via the API looks like this:

Latest EOD and Historical EOD Prices for All Indices from FRED

Via the US & Global Economic feed, you can pull latest EOD and historical EOD close price levels for all series covered by FRED (here). The FRED mainly consists of economic series, such as GDPs, payroll levels, and consumer price indices. However, it also includes some US and non-US equity indices like, for example, the Nikkei 225.

This data is available to access through our REST API, Excel add-in, and CSV.

Pulling EOD price levels via the API (using the Nikkei 225 as the example) looks like this:
